SEVEN LAYER SALAD

Shopping list or check supplies: Lettuce, celery, 1 green pepper, 1 Spanish onion, 1 box frozen peas ( 10 oz) bacon, Cheddar cheese, mayonnaise or Miracle Whip, large serving spoonand fork, large transparent bowl.

Fill a transparent salad bowl half full of shredded lettuce. Don't tear it. Slice it like cabbage to make it fluffier. Add in layers ¼ to ½ cup of each :
Chopped celery
Chopped green pepper
Spanish onion
1 10 ounce package frozen peas cooked, drained, cooled
Cover the top of the salad with 1 to 2 cups of mayonnaise. Do not mix up the vegetables. Guests will do this as they serve it. Sprinkle 2 tablespoons of sugar over the mayonnaise. Over this sprinkle 4 to 6 ounces of shredded Cheddar cheese. Crumble over top of this 8 strips of fried bacon. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate 8 hours. Serves 18.
